JEALOUSY IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP: 5 WAYS TO DEAL WITH IT

Jealousy in a relationship is never easy to handle. It is absolutely normal to be jealous in a relationship when you're in love. But jealousy must never be shoved or pushed under the carpet. The only way to deal with it is to confront it. Nobody wakes up in the morning and decides to start feeling jealous about his or her partner. Sometimes, you just feel jealous because because your partner is spending too much time with his/her friends and not paying enough attention to you. Sometimes, it could be simply because your partner is hugging and holding the hands of an attractive looking male or female friend for too long. And when this sort of jealousy continues to burn inside you, insecurity begins to set in. This is when that overwhelming fear of possibly losing your partner starts to gnaw at you and tear you apart. Here are 5 ways to help you deal with that jealous rage inside of you before it ruins your relationship or marriage.

*Listen to your partner. Most of the times when jealousy sets in, all your partner may be asking of you is for you to pay attention to what he/she is trying to say. If you want to work this out, then both of you must be ready to listen to each other.

*Communicate. If you're annoyed with your partner about something, tell them. Let them know how you feel. Instead of sulking and plotting to make the day worse for you and your partner, open up and let it out. At the end of the day, you'll be able to spend more time in happiness with your partner than misery.

*Read the signs. Sometimes your partner may be hurt by something you said or did and prefer not to talk about it. Its your responsibility to get your partner to open to you and share their pain and hurt. Coax your partner, give your sweetheart a hug or just run your hands through their hair or body and you'll see that soon, even though the person was upset, he/she feels better after opening up to you and talking about it. And, of course, you feel better too.

*Put yourself in their shoes. One of the best ways to deal with jealousy is by putting yourself in your partner's shoes by asking yourself, would you have behaved differently? Aren't you also guilty of what you're upset about? Don't you also get carried away when you run into an old friend and hug and kiss the friend even when you know your partner is watching? Don't you make these honest mistakes too?

*Reassurance. One of the best ways to deal with jealousy is to reassure your partner about your feelings for them. If you get angry with your partner for feeling jealous things will only get worse. Tell your partner you're sorry to have neglected him/her and let the partner know that he/she means the world to you.
